 nd other unexpected or inappropriate behaviour.\nMost people who deal with
  the general public will on occasion face a difficult or potentially dange
 rous situation. How we respond to a potential crisis can make the differen
 ce between smooth resolution and an emergency situation.\nProviding practi
 cal response strategies\, this course looks at the four step SAFE de-escal
 ation process: Situation—Assess—Facilitate—Evaluate.\nContent covered incl
 udes:\n\n Establish rapport\n Recognise danger\n Empathetic communication
 \n Preventative techniques\n Identify and assess behaviours\n Relevance of
  mental health + other conditions\n Manage emotions and instinct\n Verbal 
 and nonverbal defusing techniques\n Ensure personal safety\n\nScholarships
 :There are two scholarship places available for consumers or carers who fa
 ce financial difficulty in attending this course. Scholarship applications
  close 10 business days prior to a course and the successful applicants wi
 ll be notified five business days prior to commencement of the event.\nThe
