Mental wellbeing through conception, pregnancy and early parenting.

This insightful workshop explores the factors which influence mental wellbeing in the perinatal period and what helps new families. A key focus of the training is the interdependence of parent wellbeing and infant mental health and how the attachment relationship can be protected when a parent is unwell.

The emotional and psychological wellbeing of parents from conception through to 12 months after a baby is born (the perinatal period), is at once very vulnerable and profoundly important for the long term wellbeing of both parents and child.

Common parent issues before or after a birth may include “Baby Blues”, depression, anxiety and psychosis along with infant issues such as attachment, emotional regulation, sleep and feeding patterns.
